Holy Trinity School and Sixth Form Centre has extensive facilities‚ including halls, libraries and information technology suites, which enable the sharing of facilities such as the heated indoor swimming pool, science laboratories and the home economics room, as well as the outdoor sports and tennis courts. Being housed on one site ensures continuity of education between the main school sections of Primary School, Senior School and Sixth Form. This continuity is being increasingly recognised by Educators as a great advantage.
The school owes its origins to the Trinitarian order of Nuns, which dates from the 12th century and was founded by two French priests, John de Matha and Felix de Valois. Our swimming pool, officially reopened in May 2006, has proved to be a great success and is used by a number of community clubs and organisations.
The newly refurbished Prep School Learning Centre is accommodated over two floors. The Upper Library contains non-fiction books and learning resources. It has tables for whole class teaching, group discussion and independent study. The Lower Library is clearly divided into different zones; soft seating for relaxing reading or listening to audio books, while 'reading dens' give the illusion of privacy. The Lower Library contains fiction books, including novels, short stories and picture books in addition to magazines and newspapers. Classes visit the library for lessons, story-time and to exchange their library books. The library is also regularly used during lunchtime by boys and girls preferring 'reading for pleasure' to playing outside.
The Senior School enjoys excellent facilities including an extended Information Technology suite, Creative Arts department, Music rooms, Business Studies room, a very proactive Geography department, Design Technology/Home Economics room, gymnasium, individual Science laboratories.
The separate and recently extended Sixth Form Centre facilities include a bistro area and student kitchen, lounge, locker rooms, private study rooms, teaching rooms, art laboratory, sixth form computer room, audio visual projection, conference and meeting room, as well as a number of separate study rooms.
Little Trinity Nursery, although on the same site, operates and is separate to the main school.
