Miss Paterson Secures Bike Sponsorship for World Triathlon Duathlon Championships
Thrilled to have secured sponsorship, teacher and world champion in the World Triathlon Duathlon Championships, Miss Paterson is gearing up for this year’s competition which will take place in Romania in June.
Miss Paterson said: “I'm overjoyed to have secured sponsorship from GM Cycles as it will be a huge support when I compete in the World Championships next month and the European Champs in September.
“GM Cycles have also generously agreed to offer a free bike safety check for all Holy Trinity students which is amazing and good timing as the children are now cycling more as the days are getting warmer and longer.”
Having bought her first bike only six years ago, June’s event will be only her third international appearance since taking up the sport. The duathlon involves running, cycling and a final run.
Added Miss Paterson: “I would also like to thank HTS for their continued support in allowing me to represent GB during term time. As a school, we promote qualities like perseverance, commitment and determination; life-long transferable skills. Hopefully, my students can see that I practise what I preach! We also discuss the benefit of exercising for mental health. It has certainly helped me over the years.”
GM Cycles Conor Bush and Jordan College are both army veterans with a huge passion for cycling. Jordan worked for the GB cycling team as a mechanic for several years traveling the world after finishing his service with the British Army as an engineer, whilst Conor built his in-depth knowledge of bike mechanics after spending the best part of 15 years and throughout his military career working on and riding his own bikes.
Commenting they said: “We want to wish Sarah the best of luck whilst competing at the World Championships this year.
“We will make sure her bike is set up to the highest of standards and send her on her way with a few parts and accessories to guarantee that she has the best chance at bringing home the World Championship title again. Good luck Sarah!”
