Thanks to the hard work and dedication of a team of parents at Holy Trinity, students now can make the most of the great outdoors irrespective of any weather the UK has to offer.

The PTA and school community as part of the big ‘Outdoor Space Project’ have been actively fundraising through a range of initiatives, successfully co-funding and creating a new community seating/breakout area next to the school’s central wildlife pond.

PTA Chair, Mrs Michelle Howles commented: “As our school community continues to increase, the PTA’s ‘Outdoor Space Project’ is aimed at providing additional outdoor classrooms, dinning and student break-out areas so that they can make the most of the great outdoors; this project was funded with over £6,500's worth of awnings to provide shelter for students from sun and rain, and over £400 worth of new benches and tables so that they can sit out, relax and enjoy the antics of our visiting wild ducks, and in the spring any ducklings that may come along.”

The PTA initiative, supporting the school’s goal of improving outside space and learning provision for students, means pupils can now spend more time outdoors, even when it’s extremely sunny or raining, able to eat together socially and enjoy the space for education and community-based activities.

Headteacher, Mrs Leek-Wright, added: “The energy and enthusiasm that the PTA have, year in year out, never ceases to amaze me; as a school we are extremely fortunate to have such dedicated and supportive parents who work so tirelessly for the good of the school.”
