Holy Trinity teacher, Miss Read, will take part in one of the toughest and muddiest challenges of her life and all in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Taking on the Tough Mudder, muddy obstacle challenge on the 18th May in Grantham, she hopes to break her £300 fundraising target.
Said Miss Read: “I have recently lost someone close, so I wanted to support the research and care given by the Alzheimer’s Society to those affected by this disease.
“The Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever and until the day we find a cure, we will need to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.”
Tough Mudder is a mud and obstacle course designed to test an individual’s physical strength, stamina, and mental determination. A challenge that emphasizes teamwork and camaraderie, with no pedestals, winners, or clocks to race against as it’s not about how fast you can cross the finish line.
Miss Read added: “I will be running a ten to twelve-mile course encompassing twenty-five obstacles including ice water, “electroshock” and monkey bars over a mud bath.
“I’m so grateful for any and all donations, big or small, as they will all help and support the wonderful work being done by the Alzheimer’s Society.”
