Fern, Holy Trinity’s school dog, is the (rather hairy), face behind a campaign to recruit new school governors.

Headteacher, Mrs Leek-Wright explained: “School governors play such an important role within the school and we are keen to expand and build on the existing expertise and experience. Using Fern in this campaign is an ideal way to capture attention whilst reinforcing our values, of which Fern is such an integral part.'

Officially joining Holy Trinity last year, Fern has been a big hit with students of all ages from Primary to Sixth Form, joining assemblies, lessons and enjoying one-to-one student time on her daily walks.

Holy Trinity is keen to develop its links with the business community and has a long tradition of academic excellence, pastoral care, with a strong emphasis on aspiration for all pupils. A dynamic, successful and flourishing local school, all successful governor candidates will be provided with full training and development support.

Added Mrs Leek-Wright: “Regardless of age everyone loves to interact with Fern from working alongside our school counsellor and visiting the school’s libraries encouraging pupils to read to her, Fern’s introduction has been a real success.

“We are a warm and welcoming school and I encourage anyone with a true passion and interest in education to apply to become a Holy Trinity School Governor and help us to continue the good work being done across our growing school community.”
